The common features among most brands is a cotton/nylon or synthetic fabric using an acrylic adhesive to adhere to the skin. Most have a stretch between 120-180%. Kinesiology/Sports tape is supposed to imitate the thickness of human skin and largely allows a regular range of motion around the joint/skin its adhered to.
RockTAPE is a brand of kinesiology tape used by many professionals for helping to treat many injuries and painful conditions. RockTAPE is one of the favorite brands at Acu-Pain Clinic for it’s comfort and reliability. Often the tape will last 4 to 5 days!

Decompresses swelling and inflammation. When RockTAPE is applied to the skin, it has a microscopic lifting effect underneath the skin and between the many layers. This allows the by-products created by inflammation to be removed more quickly. This simply means that the tape can lift the skin away from the soft tissue underneath the skin. This lifting capability is what promotes blood flow and lymph drainage. … Unlike braces and sleeves that constrain and reduce blood flow, RockTAPE can provide support and stability while increasing blood flow.
